• Am I taking the correct steps now to set myself up for the future? How do I compare to others my age?
• How can I direct my cashflow to ensure my income is being put to its best use?
• Should I focus first on investing, or on paying down home or student loan debt?
• How should I be saving for my children’s college? How much do I really need?
• How can I maximize my employer-provided benefits? Does my employer provide enough life or disability insurance?
• Do I need to have a will or power of attorney? How do I go about putting these together?

Chris was drawn to the financial planning business because he enjoys helping people make better financial decisions. Financial stress and uncertainty are some of the biggest causes of anxiety for individuals, within marriages and for small business owners. Chris believes much of this worry is unnecessary and can be alleviated through partnering with a trusted financial professional. While Chris loves doing market research and seeing clients’ investment accounts grow over time, the most rewarding part of his job is when he sees comfort on a clients’ face after a discussion. Knowing they are leaving with a better understanding of where they are and what they need to do to reach their goals is very satisfying for him. Chris is encouraged when these discussions lead to actions that can help relieve the financial worry so many investors experience.
Mari, a Boone, NC native, joined AFA as a Wealth Manager in June 2019, following two and half years spent with another Atlanta-based firm as a Client Care Coordinator. Mari has always had a passion for helping and serving others, and after discovering that many people struggle in finding financial confidence, she now finds her work at AFA incredibly meaningful. She specifically enjoys working with women going through transitional events in their lives. Mari’s devotion to this niche stems from when her father passed away unexpectedly, and she watched her mother transition through the steps of life as a single-parent.

Since Harrison was young, he always had a strong interest in problem-solving, from elementary school brain teasers to the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle. Growing up he saw his father, who has been in financial planning for over 30-years, apply that same problem-solving mentality to the real world with his clients. That real-world application sparked an interest in using personal financial planning to solve the puzzle of financial independence for others.
